How can you add widgets to your Magento store?

  • Go to CMS, and then choose Widgets. You will then be redirected to the Manage Widget Instances option. Click on Add New Widget Instance.
  • When you see the Settings menu, proceed to Type and Design Package/Theme. Click Continue.
  • From that page, you will see the New Widget Instance page. Go to Frontend Properties and Widget Options. You will notice that Type and Design Package have already been selected, so now you just have to add Title, Sort Order, and Store View.
  • Next, click Add Layout Updates. At this point, choose where to display your new widget. Choose from the Display on the menu. Click on Widget Options.
  • Then, select Block and click Save. Check you store now and you will see the new widget you just installed.
